  1. Wow! Middle school needs more coloring items than the two elementary schoolers I purchased for this year! That is quite a list. Remember the days when the schools provided the supplies?

  2. Thanks for stopping by!!

I always loved the new supplies I got when going back to school πŸ™‚ Your list brought back great memories!

  3. Kleenex *is* very important. Hard to believe that the vacation is almost over, eh?

  4. What could one person need 4 glue sticks for ??? That is alot of supplies for one kid geesh happy TT

  5. I agree. I will not be purchasing 4 glue sticks for my kids – or 3 boxes of kleenex.

I’ll have pencils and paper at home & won’t be sending 24 pencils, 12 each of the black & red pens, 2 boxes of colored pencils, or 4 packs of notebook paper up there. If my kids need those items, they can get it out of our supply box & take it with them.

I find some of the things on the list to be overkill. I understand needing to be prepared, but I see no reason to have those things stored in a communal bin (where they have to ask to get a pencil – my son was told no last year when he asked for a pencil after I’d sent 24 of them to the school) when I can keep them at home & make sure that my child actually gets to use the things that I supplied for them.

Anyway, my kids are glad that school’s about to start again. So am I! πŸ™‚

  6. whoo HOO for new school supplies! πŸ™‚

  7. Is “ream” an actual word for a package of paper? I’ve always heard people say, “A Ream of paper,” but I just thought it meant “a whole bunch.”

  8. Yes, it’s an acutal word describing a quantity of paper.

A ream of paper is a 500 sheet package.

    A “short ream” is 480 sheets. πŸ™‚
