Tonight after work, I went over to my parents’ house to get a book I’d left over there this weekend. When I was still outside talking to Mom (when I arrived), Dad waved me in & said, “Do you know how to find the address book on this thing?” He’d gotten a new cel phone b/c his old one died & didn’t want to read the instruction booklet. He said a guy in Home Depot today helped him find the address book but he couldn’t remember how the guy had done it. Too cute. He was upset b/c they’re making cel phones smaller & they don’t have one as big as his old one. Now he cannot hold it on his shoulder. If he comes home with an earpiece, I’m gonna crack up.

Luckily, he has a thing mounted on the dash of his truck that allows him to hear & make phone calls through the truck speakers (a microphone is set up somehow on the steering wheel, I think).. so he can talk hands free when driving. I’m not sure what it’s called, though.. but I’m sure you can tell what I’m talking about from my wonderful description. 🙂

Thursday is Dad’s birthday. He’s going to be out of town working on a big project.. he’s remodeling a restaurant, I believe. Mom will be out of town at a conference. The kids & I will have to call & sing to him & then have birthday stuff when he gets home.

One of my sisters did birthday stuff with dad this past weekend.. I did not plan ahead enough to make that happen. So now he gets 2 birthday celebrations!

Today at work, I came across several patients who are named after famous people in history.. like General Robert E. Lee, for example. Who’d name their kid this? If my last name was Einstein, I’d never name my son Albert.. talk about setting them up for getting beaten up on the playground!

I really don’t understand what people are thinking when they name their kids these things. Maybe the pregnancy was a nightmare….
