2006 HOOTERS Calendar

I got an email from my aunt today that had this subject line: 2006 HOOTERS CALENDAR.. friends and family only!

I was thinking.. oh great.. should I open this in front of the kids?

Will it be a nudie calendar.. you just never know with this aunt.. some of the emails she has forwarded have been hilarious over the years. 🙂 lol

I scrolled down.. and saw this! (to the right) LOL Posted by Picasa

Back in Bluegrass, part two

As I was driving to pick up the kids today, I listened to AC/DC Back in Black for a bit. I couldn’t help thinking of the tribute to AC/DC cd called Back in Bluegrass. A co-worker told me last week that she found that cd at Wal-Mart & got it for her husband for Christmas. I was horrified.. as I do not care for bluegrass music and couldn’t imagine such a travesty. She said, thank goodness, that it is music only and no bluegrass singing on the cd. The thought of THAT is beyond imagination! Posted by Picasa

Developing Your Family Mission

Family Communication God’s Way

The testing posts

When I was checking out settings on the picasa photo posting software, I didn’t realize that Teflonjedi had posted a comment.. then I deleted the posts… and saw that a comment had been posted when I checked my email. Sorry!

I wanted to see if I could make words go to the right of the photos.. but they kept showing up underneath the photos. Oh well. Maybe I will take time to figure it out later.

I’m gonna post more pics on here soon… that’s the reason for the “testing.” 🙂

They’re baaaccckkkkk!

The munchkins are back home now. 🙂

They’re playing in their Christmas stuff that they didn’t take with them to my sister’s house.. well, the girls are. My son is outside playing with his friends.

I’m glad I didn’t get him the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire PS2 game.. they rented it this past week and he has already beaten it.. he now thinks it is boring/easy. With the basketball & football games I got him, he can change the teams, conditions, locations, and make each game seem new. So I don’t think he’ll get bored with them as quickly… at least I hope not.

*********************

I saw someone throw out a cigar when I was driving to get the kids. I wanted to yell at them.. DON’T YOU KNOW THERE’S A BURN BAN HERE!! But then I noticed that they were from out of state (from the west coast).. probably just driving thru and had no idea. But still.. it’s not nice to throw out cigars/cigarettes when driving.. it’s littering and a fire hazard.

********************

We had a scare when I was getting the kids.. we thought the Bon Jovi tickets had been lost. My sister thought she had put them in the car and that she had asked oldest daughter to hold them, to bring to me to keep until the concert. When we met, however, the ticket envelope was no where to be found. We searched her car, everything inside it, and the surrounding area/parking lot for about 15 minutes, freaking out a little, thinking we’d have to contact Ticketmasters to get them re-printed.. wondering how to tell them, “Uhhmm.. yeah, we got the tickets, but we’re idiots & lost them.. can you send us duplicates?” When she got home, the tickets were there, in their little red envelope, laying on the ground in her driveway. That was a close one! Whew!

********************

It’s 14 days until the Bon Jovi concert, BTW. 🙂

Yesterday on the radio, they announced the winner of the “Have a Nice Gig” contest. Hundreds of local bands (I think they said over 500 bands.. maybe over 700.. I’m not sure now that I’m typing it) sent in demos & one was chosen to be the opening act at the Bon Jovi concert. They played a song by the winning band on the radio after announcing them… the band name is HOLLOW.. and they sounded pretty good.

New format

Changed my format last night.. was bored with the tie died look for a while.. what do you think? Can you see everything clearly? If not, let me know what’s messed up & which browser you use & I’ll see if I can get it straightened out.

Changed my plans this past week

When the kids left last Sunday, I thought I would clean their rooms.. and our entire home.. really well.

I did not. I didn’t clean a thing.. except the dishes I used.

When the kids called on Thursday night, youngest daughter asked if I had cleaned their bedroom.. I told her I’d not even walked down the hallway to their bedroom.. not once. I think she was shocked.

I enjoyed having a week alone. The kids will be home today. I’m leaving in about 45 minutes and will meet my sister halfway at noon.

The peace & quiet will soon be over and cleaning will commence. LOL

Raccoons

I called animal control today.. they’re coming out on Tuesday to set live animal traps for the raccoon family that’s living in the eaves of my roof. Actually, between the roof and the top of the building. Three of them. A little raccoon family. Soon to be moved far, far away from here.

Hard Candy Christmas

The radio stations around here play this Dolly Parton song each year before/during the Christmas holidays. Why can they not see that it’s NOT A CHRISTMAS SONG??

Lyrics from The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas Soundtrack

Hey, maybe I’ll dye my hair
Maybe I’ll move somewhere
Maybe I’ll get a car
Maybe I’ll drive so far
They’ll all lose track
Me, I’ll bounce right back

Maybe I’ll sleep real late
Maybe I’ll lose some weight
Maybe I’ll clear my junk
Maybe I’ll just get drunk on apple wine
Me, I’ll be just

Fine and Dandy
Lord it’s like a hard candy christmas
I’m barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won’t let
Sorrow bring me way down

I’ll be fine and dandy
Lord it’s like a hard candy christmas
I’m barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won’t let
Sorrow get me way down

Hey, maybe I’ll learn to sew
Maybe I’ll just lie low
Maybe I’ll hit the bars
Maybe I’ll count the stars until dawn
Me, I will go on

Maybe I’ll settle down
Maybe I’ll just leave town
Maybe I’ll have some fun
Maybe I’ll meet someone
And make him mine
Me, I’ll be just

Fine and dandy
Lord it’s like a hard candy christmas
I’m barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won’t let
Sorrow bring me way down

I’ll be fine and dandy
Lord it’s like a hard candy christmas
I’m barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won’t let
Sorrow get me way down

‘Cause I’ll be fine
(I’ll be fine)
Oh, I’ll be fine

Resolution

Do you make New Year’s resolutions?

I have been known to make quite a few lofty resolutions that were broken/discarded very quickly.

This year, I am making one resolution.

I’ve already made a lifestyle change by joining Weight Watchers, so that doesn’t count.

My resolution this year is to play more games with my children… board games, card games, computer games, video games, word games.. just games.

As I was thinking today, taking inventory of my life, I decided that I have come up short in this area.. playing with my kids.

What is your resolution.. or your stand on resolutions for the new year?
