Do you see turtles crossing the road often?

I do. I see them a lot when I’m driving to work in the mornings. I don’t drive on the interstate, as you’ve probably guessed. The back roads are much quicker (takes about 15 minutes off the drive), less traffic & more scenic. Besides turtles, I also see buffalo, cows, horses, goats, chickens, and of course, cats & dogs.

For years, when I saw a turtle crossing the road, it would rain later that day. I began to wonder if these road crossing turtles were a sort of weather predictors. In fact, after we began to put the road crossing together with occurrences of rain, it was not uncommon to hear someone in my family say, “Saw a turtle crossing the road.. it’s gonna rain.”

Today, I saw a turtle crossing the road as I was driving to work. No rain is in the forecast until the end of the week (when I’m going to be moving, JOY!). It looks like my childhood belief that turtles crossing the road bring rain might be shot down today.

I’m secretly hoping for rain so that this fun theory/belief of mine holds true.

Chicken Littles (part 2)

This morning at work, someone thought they smelled a natural gas leak. I’m not even sure that our building uses natural gas. I thought it used only electric service.

The flock of Chicken Littles started up again with their gloom and doom predictions. They were all getting headaches from the fumes, we needed to evacuate & go home so the building didn’t blow up, we were all going to die in a gas explosion.  Good grief.

We all left the building and the natural gas people came out & went thru with the maintenance crew. No gas leak. Mysteriously, the smell disappeared by the time we all came back in the building.

I never smelled it, by the way. My only headache was from all the Chicken Little end of the world crap.

I think someone must have heard a news report of a big gas leak about 10 miles away from our building. Several businesses & apartment complexes had to be evacuated b/c of a natural gas leak this morning.

The Chicken Littles make me tired.

Thanks, Ginger

for your help with my template earlier today. I finally sat down, messed with it & got it to work. 🙂 You’re the best!

Each week,

I check the Post Secret blog to see the new additions. Each week, I am speechless.

Again today, this is true.
