Central Air

The house I live in now doesn’t have central air. It has 3 window units. 2 of them work. It has an attic fan. I live in Central Oklahoma. It’s been in the mid-90’s and VERY humid here.  Imagine living in someone’s mouth. ICK!

On Saturday, I’m moving. I will have — drumroll please — CENTRAL AIR!!! Yippee! It’s been almost 5 years since I’ve had central air. 5 summers of sweltering heat, feeling hot & sticky upon awakening, sweaty underclothes (is there anything worse than this? I can think of worse than sweaty underpants, but right now it’s at the top of my DISLIKE list), and enormous electric bills from the window units running constantly in this poorly insulated house.

Actually, I’m thinking that Friday night, after I pick up the keys & before my furniture is moved in on Saturday morning, the kids & I may take sleeping bags over & sleep with the AC turned on! If we decide to do that, then only 2 more nights in this hot house! 🙂

The girls and packing

After my post about donating the girls’ possessions, guess what’s happened?

They’ve PACKED almost everything in their bedroom.

While, I’m glad they’ve taken accountability for their things, I was kind of wishing that we could get rid of some of their stuff that they don’t use often.

The next step will be to throw out boxes that don’t get opened up & used once we get moved in. 🙂 I know it’s kind of silly to move it in the first place if I’m just going to get rid of it later on.. but I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by packing this whole house by myself. So I’m not going to add sorting their things to my already long list.

Road crossing turtle did not bring rain

It still has not rained. 😦 My theory has been debunked. I’m a little saddened by it. I think I’m going to pretend that it still always rains when I see a turtle crossing the road simply because it’s fun, and well, because I CAN! lol
