The book I just finished

called “The Other Boleyn Girl” by Phillippa Gregory was an excellent read. I’ve never read much about the Tudor period and found it fascinating. I knew that women had NO personal power during that time.. but reading that book was enlightening. I realize it is a novel, but it was well researched & seemed as accurate as possible to be about a time in which we’ve not lived.

Sad that Henry VIII was so insecure and such a scoundrel. It was thought to be normal for him to take up with other women & for the queen to be expected to turn her head. Even during his “other woman’s” pregnancies and after his children were born, he was quick to move on to the next woman.
