Health

I’ve been thinking about health today, and quality of life. They go hand in hand, I believe.

I’m exploring how I feel about these questions:
–Do I feel better when I’m eating healthier foods, drinking more water, working out more.. or only when the numbers on the scale are lower?

–Do I care more about how my clothes fit, how I look or how I feel?

–What can I do now to improve my health & redefine my views of HEALTHY.. not just physical but MENTAL health as well?

lower carb diet
less caffeine
more exercise
more water
to bed earlier
stress reduction
finish degree
keep consistency in disciplining the children
require children to help more around the house

(I tend to let them play & do it myself b/c it’s easier.. not good for any of us really… more work for me, no ownership for them)

These are things that would be easily implemented… well, maybe not cutting down on caffeine just yet. That’d go along with getting more rest & less stress, I think. I’m prone to caffeine withdrawals/severe headaches when I quit cold turkey… and that makes me NO FUN to be around.. so not going that route again anytime soon.

I don’t want to be supermodel thin.. or anything unrealistic.. I just want to be comfortable with my size, healthy & strong, able to raise my children & to feel like running & playing with them after working all day.

Dobby likes Oatmeal Cookies!

Here’s my handsome Dobby today. He’s been really trying to whistle “Row Row Row Your Boat” the past several days.

He’s gotten down these parts:
row row row your boat
gently down the stream

(skips the merrily merrily part)

life is but a dream!

Dobby loves his BIRDSITTER video.. I can tell a really big difference in him & his apparent happiness since we’ve been playing it for him each day when we’re out at school & work. He sings much more & is less nippy with the kids. Actually, Dobby is getting more friendly with them, but will still leave their shoulders to fly to me if I enter the room. I try to stay out of the rooms where they’re playing with him so he’ll get to know them too. It’s hard to believe we’ve had him for almost 2 months now.

I still giggle when I think of my 6 ft 5 inch ex husband running in fear when little 3 ounce ferocious Dobby tried to fly & land on his shoulder that day when ex had come by to visit with the kids. HILARIOUS! Ex was running around the island in my kitchen, Dobby was flying after him.. I was hooting with laughter… SOOO FUNNY!! Wish I’d have had my camcorder out! Would have been a prizewinning funniest video, I believe!

I was making oatmeal cookies tonight & gave Dobby one. He LOVED it! He had it all over the cabinet top, out of his bowl, on the floor, crumbs around his beak. He messed with that cookie until it was totally pulverized. It was so fun to watch him enjoying it so much. I know that my children enjoy the foods that I prepare for them, and they say thanks & help with clean up & all.. but something about watching something discover it for the first time… kind of like watching my kids when they were trying new foods as babies…

Good grief! I am gushing about this bird! LOL Posted by Hello
